- First of all, I hired him on a Thursday specifically because his ad said "20% off on Thursdays." Making the appointment for 4:00 p.m. was easy enough.
He provided the address, noting that parking and a shower were available. I arrived at 3:50 p.m., parked on the street (free), and texted him saying, "Hi, Manny. I have arrived a few minutes early. Is it okay to come in?" No immediate response, so I walked up to the door of the two-story residence.
I noticed that the first floor was a hair salon. The second floor appeared to be an apartment. I stood around for a few minutes, then he texted me back: "No. Not ready. 4:00." So I replied, "Okay, sorry. Please text me when you are ready." I waited in my car. On the dot at 4:00, he texted me that he was ready.
He met me at the door of the salon and directed me to a room in the back corner, with a full bathroom attached. He told me to get undressed and place my things on the chair, then lie face down on the table. As I laid down on the table, he said, "First I charge you, then you relax." So I got up, took the cash out of my wallet, and asked, "So what is my total for 90 minutes?" "One hundred forty-five." I said, "Your ad says 20% off on Thursdays." He said, "That's for regular customers."
So, like a fool (and since I was standing there naked, feeling vulnerable), I handed him $160 (because it isn't possible to extract $145 from an ATM. Thank God I was prepared.)
The massage was no better than perfunctory; just the same thing over and over again, with a bit of stretching of each quad. That was the longest 90 minutes of my life. It ended, or seemed to end, when he went over to the sink and started washing his hands. I sat up and he said, for the first time, "How do you feel?" I said I feel fine.
I could offer no more than that. While the experience wasn't terrible, I did feel hoodwinked on the price for nothing special. His reviews seem manufactured. Other forums pan him as "comically bad." Oh, well; caveat emptor.
