I have been a customer of Remington's men's strip club in Toronto for many years and have seen the results of new management come and go. It has only gotten worse, to the point that even the dancers are as bored and unhappy as the customers are. Since Pride Week another management crew has come in so I visited the club on Saturday night to see if anything had changed. Two things those dancers need to learn, how to dance and how to treat their customers. They typically try to dance and end up twirling around the poles, wearing whatever they feel like while struggling out of their clothes and footwear. Some of the dancers have told me that they don't get to choose their music and don't like dancig to small crowds. Trust me, not a sexy sight at all. I don't know how those boys manage to make money when they spend their time offstage in their dressing room instead of working the room and making customers feel welcome and comfortable.
There was a time when all of the dancers would be strolling around the club and a dancer you were interested in would take the time sit with you, give you a neck rub or shoulder massage, chat you up and then eventaully lure you upstairs for a private dance. But the current set of dancers are being picky as to who they will talk to and who "they" would like to upstairs with. Business has gotten to the point that Ladies Night has been extended beyond just Sundays to Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The dancers are not to keen on the idea because the ladies do not partake in private dances. Gentlemen save up your money and go to Montreal where they have more than one club and much friendlier dancers.
Although I must pay tribute to a few boys who understand that it is more about customer service and not themselves: Keanu, Patrick, Michael, Kelly and Pete.
